Abstract

|
Factors that create artifacts may be related to the technologists, the processor, mammography unit, or the patients. A variety of artifact on mammograms can create pseudolesion or mask true abnormalities. It is therefore important for technologists and radiologists involved in mammography to be aware of such artifacts and to know how to correct them. Scheduled activities of programming quality control can reduce or eliminate most mammographic artifacts.
